Mangalore, Jul 20: A drug peddler was nabbed by the city sleuths red-handed while he was trying to sell opium here on Saturday July 19 afternoon.
The arrested has been identified as Rajesh (38) a resident of Bajjody, near Bikarnakatte here. The police have recovered 280 grams of opium, valued at around Rs 70,000, Rs 630 cash, a mobile handset and also seized his Maruti Omni.
Acting on a tip-off, the district crime intelligence bureau (DCIB) sleuths nabbed him while he was dealing with his customers in his car at Attavar locality on Saturday afternoon.
DCIB inspector T B Rajanna, ASI Parameshwar, police personnel Vasant, Nagesh, Shashidar Shetty, Bhaskar, Dinesh Bekal, Harish Padavinangady, Devayya and Shantha Shetty were involved in the operation.
