Panaji, Jul 22: Newly appointed Goa Governor S S Sidhu said that Goa needs to develop its own brand image internationally in the tourism sector alike Kerala.
"Goa is famous nationally and internationally as a tourism destination. The state has its own flavour and unique ambience," Sidhu said talking to the reporters soon after the taking over as Goa Governor.
He, however, said that the state needs to built its own brand image internationally like Kerala which is known as God's own country or larger India as Incredible India.
"Goa can stand on its own basis and make efforts for self sustainance," the Governor said.
Sidhu took over the charge as Goa Governor today in a function held at Raj Bhavan.

Stressing for the responsible tourism, the Governor said that all the stake holders in the tourism industry should participate for all inclusive growth of the state.
Sidhu said that international airport is must for the growth of the tourism. Referring to the Greenfield airport planned at Mopa in north goa and opposition to it, the Governor said that a consensus should be drawn between different view points.
"World class airport is must for the tourist state. I am new to the situation. But I will study and understand the problem with the help of administration and locals," Sidhu, who has served as a secretary general to International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) said.
