Kundapur, Jan 8: “Communal forces and the instigation of Sangh Parivar are the causes of present situation in the coastal region”, alleged chief minister (CM) Siddaramaiah. He was speaking in Areshirur here after inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth Rs 490 crores in Byndoor Vidhana Sabha limits on Monday, January 8.

Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said that Sangh Parivar first of all, should give up instigating. “BJP should stop communal politics. Nobody will indulge in such activities if they stop fanning communal tension. There are no thoughts of banning any organizations. But I have asked to keep an eye on PFI, Bajrang Dal and Sri Rama Sene.” he said.

Responding to allegations that he is against Hindus, he asked who says so. “Those who hate us are neither Hindus nor human,”

Responding to twitter war between Uttar Pradesh (UP) chief minister CM Yogi and him, he asked on what stage of development is there in UP to teach a lesson. “We are number one in development. Uttar Pradesh is Jungle Raj and the Yogi is the CM of Jungle Raj. We do not need lessons on development from such a person. Hinduism is not determined by the food a person eats,” he thundered.

Speaking about providing food to Kalladka School from Mookambika temple, he asked why should food be provided there? “We can provide food to other schools instead of that one, ” he said.

Answering the reporters on why he does not visit Krishna Math even though he visits Udupi several times, he said that it does not mean that he does not go to temples. “I do visit temples. My not visiting Krishna Math is trivial."

Inauguration of various works, ground breaking

The chief minister laid foundation for projects worth Rs 490.97 crore during the ceremony held at Byndoor Gandhi maidan. These include a bridge, Vandse Nandroli road, Balekere temple road, Katbelthur Bhadra Mahakali road development. Tallur Uppinakudru main road to Bedarakottige Bobbaryana house road, Mullikatte Mani Mayya road, road till Movadi Devali Aithala house, Trasi Gangolli light house road, Benegere Naga temple road development, Uppunda Alive Kodi fisheries road, Koderi fisheries road, Yadthare Paduvari customs road, Shirur Alvegadde fisheries road, Yadthare to Paduvari Someshwara road, Jadkal Mudoor village maidan – Koremukha road development, Koolluru tourist guest house construction, Chittur Hemmakkihara road and Theerthahalli Kundapur road, bridge for Varahi river, Maravanthe bridge, bridge near Alooru Ragihaklu, bridge near Sauda near Shanernarayana grama and Kabbinale bridge. Hakladi primary health center, government high school, Siddapur, Chittur new high school building, Aloor high school building, Navunda new high school building, Varahi irrigation project work, colony for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, Haregodu road, Chankambri road development, fish market at Shiroor etc.

Out of Rs ten crore package announced by minister of welfare, Rs 462 lac was allotted for Byndoor vidhan sabha constituency. Port and fisheries department works and prevention of sea erosion at Shiroor, Dombe, Navunda Maski Uppunda, bridge across Movada, Nada Trasi rivers and bridge at Hemmadi Kudru works were inaugurated.

Speaking after ground breaking ceremony and inauguration of development projects, Siddaramaiah said, “The central government has not responded even after recommending to include fishermen community to backward tribe category. BJP MPs here also have not put pressure about it to the union government. We are determined and continue to recommend it. I will announce loans at zero percent rates to fishermen cooperative societies. We will decide about those who have already repaid the loans. Ours is a pro-people government which does what it says. We have implemented several programmes for the people that were not included in the manifesto.

“Ours is pro-farmer government. I am also a son of a farmer. I am 100% committed to the development of farmers. The Prime Minister did not agree to write off loan of farmers in national banks when our delegation went to him after writing off loans at cooperative banks. B S Yeddyurappa speaks as if he is writing off loans. There were firings on farmers when he was the chief minister. He speaks without any logic. Does he have two tongues? BJP should reform now not people,” he said.

“Development is conducted in all the 224 constituencies in the state without discrimination. BJP party works less and publicizes more. People know their habit,” he said.

“BJP announced that there will be Ache din in the country. But Ache din came only for capitalists Adani, Ambani and Ramdev. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adithyanath gives speech in Bengaluru. There is nothing new to learn from it. He does not know about Karnataka. He does not know the history here. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have become jungle raj. Let him see Karnataka and learn. We do not have to learn the lesson about Hinduism from Adityanath, a disciple of Godse.

"Acting like a monster is not Hinduism. I am Karnataka's son of the soil. I know whose birth anniversary should be celebrated. We celebrate the birth anniversaries of 26 noble men and women in the state. The president had made a mention of Tippu when he came to Bengaluru. BJP should learn from it.”

“People in the state do not support caste based forces. We are confident that they will bless us in 2018 elections. You had elected MLA Gopal Poojary with a margin of 21,000 votes. Make him win with a large margin this time too," he said.

MLA K Gopal Poojary presided, welcomed and gave the keynote address. District in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, minister of food U T Khader, Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes, Bhatkal MLA Mankala Vaidya, Vidhana Parishat member Pratapchandra Shetty, Intuc state president Rakesh Mally, cooperative societies mahamandala president Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, fishermen's leader Madan Kumar, Mescom director Sampigedi Sanjiva Shetty, district KDP member Raju Poojary, deputy commissioner Priyanaka Mary Francis, zilla panchayat executive Shivananda Kapasi, SP Laxman B Nimbaragi and Blossom Fernandes were present.

Different organizations felicitated the chief minister. Akrama Sakrama 94C were distributed symbolically to beneficiaries. Ganesh Gangolli sang a local song. Journalist K C Rajesh compered the programme.

“The ground breaking ceremony for Rs 491 crore worth development works in Byndoor is the result of hard work of MLA Gopala Poojary. He has qualities to become a minister. He is now KSRTC president. Gopala Poojary has done nothing that can bring ill repute here. The large number of people gathered here show that development has taken place and a proof for his popularity.”

"BSY will not become chief minister"

“Providing bicycles and sarees are the only achievements of Yeddyurappa when he was the chief minister. People will not empower Yeddyurappa who has returned from prison. Neither he nor Kumaraswamy will become chief ministers here.”

“If I bring funds for development here, a board of the union government can be seen below it. The bridge in Kundapur is being constructed because of the efforts of Oscar Fernandes. Your MP is here. Construct a bridge here if you can,” asked the chief minister.

Udupi: Sadhana Samavesha held in Brahmavar constituency

Udupi, Jan 8: Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various construction projects worth total Rs 581 crore for Brahmavar constituency by pressing the remote button on Monday, January 8 at Gandhi Bhavan in Brahmavar.

After inaugurating the 'Sadhana Samavesha', he said, "I have covered 24 districts in my state-wide tour so far starting from Uttara Kannada district. As I have seen during this tour, there is no anti-Congress government wave in the state. The response we have got so far from the public is in favour of the Congress party. I am not saying this for getting publicity. We have done work as per the promises we made in the election manifesto. We have fulfilled 155 promises out of 165 promised during the last election. By March end, the government will complete the remaining promises also."

"Soon after I assumed the role of chief minister of Karnataka, I have announced six major schemes like 'Anna Bhagya', 'Ksheera Bhagya', 'Debt waiver (sala manna bhagya)', 'Bhagya Jyothi', subsidy for farmers' loan and 'Ksheera Dhare'. The dream of Congress is to make Karnataka a hunger-free state. I have experienced poverty and saw that pain among poor people of our state.

"But after 'Anna Bhagya' every family in our state is having at least two meals every day. Let the leaders of BJP tell me, where is the 'Anna Bhagya' scheme available in states like Maharashtra, Assam, Uttar Pradesh or anywhere else," he added.

Continuing his address he said, "Due to 'Ksheera Bhagya' scheme, the attendance of students has increased in the schools. There was malnutrition of Anganwadi children in Koppal, Bagalkot, Bijapur and Ballari districts and we have provided eggs for the same.

"The income of farmers is also increased due to 'Ksheera Dhare' scheme, in which the subsidy for the farmers is increased to Rs 5. So the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) is getting 75 lac liters of milk every day instead of 50 lac liters. Hence the economic condition of villagers is improved.

"The 'Online system' market was introduced in all 157 Agriculture Produce Market Committees (APMCs) in the state and the income of farmers’ got increased by 38% compared to what they used to earn earlier. The figures are marked by central policy commission. The Online market system is applied in all states across the entire nation. I have provided zero percent interest on loan upto Rs 3 lac and just 3% interest on loans of Rs 3 lac to Rs 10 lacs."

"I will announce zero percent interest on loans for fisherwomen in the next budget. I have waived off all loans on handloom and housing. Making the poor people free from debt is the motto of the Congress government.

"Former CM Yeddyurappa said from where we will get funds to waive off the loans. BJP leaders who have come from farming background and who call themselves as 'sons of the soil' are liars. The government has dug 182000 agriculture pits, under the 'Krishi Bhagya' scheme to aid the farmers. This cannot be seen anywhere in the other states," he stressed.

In addition, he also opined, "During the BJP government rule, it has spent just Rs 21000 crores for the integrated development of the state whereas during the Congress government rule, we have spent Rs 86,000 crore.

"The state government launched 200 Indira canteens providing food at subsidized rates in Bengaluru. It will be executed in all districts and taluks by next month. Free medical treatment will be available for all BPL card holders in all hospitals.

"People, who do politics for political gains, are not eligible to live in the society. There should not be politics in religion and it should not create communal hatred. The communal party will not come to power in the state this time. There is family politics in JDS party. It is very sure that JDS too will not get the mandate to rule Karnataka. Everyone should be treated equally without any discrimination. This must be discussed.

"Prime Minister Modi’s is not ‘Man-ki-Baat’, it is a ‘Khali-Baat’ (empty talk). BJP will fail in achieving their '150 mission."

The CM also distributed certificates and grants to the beneficiaries under various schemes.

District-in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj welcomed the gathering.

CMC president Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, vice-presidents Sandhya Thilakraj, Veronica Carnelio, Brahmavar Block Congress president Nithyananda Shetty, former zilla panchayat president Bhujanga Shetty, MLA Gopal Poojary and other Congress leaders were present.
