Mangaluru, Jan 9: Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill here has become one among the1,500 schools selected across the country by Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), New Delhi to establish Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) programme that encourages innovation thinking among young students.
With this, 2,441 schools have become part of the mission since its inception over a year ago. The schools were selected from over 25,000 applications from all over the country.
ATLs are play workspaces fitted with state-of-the-art technologies like 3D printers, robotics, sensor technology kits, Internet of things (IoT), miniaturised electronics etc to stimulate innovation among the students of class VI - XII.
Mount Carmel is privileged to be a part of this mission with grant-in-aid by the government of India. The school said that it is grateful to Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC for creating awareness of this programme and encouraging and supporting us to apply for the same.
