6.0 magnitude quake hits Myanmar


Yangon, Jan 12 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit Myanmar's Bago region early on Friday, the Meteorology and Hydrology Department said. No damages or casualties were reported.

The quake occurred at 12.56 a.m. with its epicentre at 27.3 km west-southwest of Phyu city, Xinhua news agency reported. Three shallow aftershocks occurred within minutes of each other.

About 70 quakes jolted Myanmar in 2017.
