Mangalore, Jul 24: After nomination papers filed by one of the five candidates submitted in connection with the election to the post of the district unit president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat was rejected during scrutiny, four persons now remain in the field.
During the scrutiny of papers conducted on Wednesday July 23, the nomination of Sanoor Sathish Salian has been rejected. Mangalore tahsildar who also is the returning officer for this election said that the nomination papers of Salian were rejected, as he did not conform to the condition that the candidates should have been members of the parishat for a minimum period of five consecutive years.
In the meantime, the nominations submitted for similar post in Udupi district by Ambatanaya Murdradi and Dr K S Karant were found to be in order.
The nomination papers of A R Nagesh Kumar, M B Sadashiv Sullia, Pradip Kumar Kalkura and Mohandas Suratkal are found to be in order. Friday July 26 is the last day for withdrawal of nominations.
