Delhi HC's 'no' to plea on 'Padmaavat'

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS): The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to entertain a plea seeking the quashing of the certificate for public viewing granted to the movie "Padmaavat".

A Division Bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal refused to hear the plea moved by Bhanwar Singh Bhati, General Secretary of a Chittorgarh-based group, Jauhar Smriti Sansthan.

The court asked Bhati to move his plea before the Supreme court.

Bhati sought to quash the certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification for allowing the screening of the film that was released on Thursday.

"Padmaavat", which stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, has been caught in a row over alleged distortion of facts.
