Five killed in Tripura road accidents


Agartala, Jan 27 (IANS): Five persons, including two children and two women, have been killed in two road accidents in Tripura, police said on Saturday.

"Two children and two women were killed when their auto-rickshaw collided with a Bolero (SUV). Another passenger in the auto-rickshaw was also injured," a police officer said.

The accident occurred in Panisagar in northern Tripura on Friday night. Police have arrested the auto-rickshaw driver.

In another accident at Fireservice Chowmuhani here on Friday night, a young biker was killed after a collision with a Bolero.

Police said the biker, who was drunk and riding rashly rammed into another motorcycle -- injuring a couple, before colliding with the car.
