India, Pakistan trade fire on LoC

Jammu, Feb 1 (IANS): The Indian and Pakistan Army on Thursday traded fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, forcing the authorities to shut schools in nearby areas.

"The Pakistani Army again violated ceasefire in Nowshera sector. Using small arms and automatics they targeted Indian military and civilian facilities," Defence Ministry sources said.

"Our troops retaliated strongly and effectively. No casualty or damage was reported from our side," the sources said.

The authorities have ordered the closure of 71 schools close to the LoC in the area as a safety measure.
