Karni Sena declares withdrawal of protest against 'Padmaavat'

Jaipur, Feb 3 (IANS): The Shri Rajput Karni Sena on Friday announced it has decided to take back its protest against the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmaavat", stating the movie glorifies the valour of the Rajputs.

Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena's Mumbai leader Yogendra Singh Katar said that on the directions of organisation's national President Sukhdev Singh Gogamadi, a few members watched the movie in Mumbai on Friday, and found that that the movie glorifies the valour and sacrifice of Rajput and every Rajput will be feeling proud after watching the film.

There is no such objectionable scene between Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khilji and Queen Padmini of Mewar which hurts the sentiments of Rajputs, he said in a letter, declaring that the Karni Sena takes back their protest and will help the administration to release the film in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat as well as across all cinema houses in India.

The Karni Sena had been demanding a ban on the period film on the grounds that it "distorts" historical facts and projects queen Padmini in poor light.

Last month, Supreme Court also lifted the ban on the movie imposed by several states and directed them to ensure its release.

The film was released in theatres across India on January 25 amidst tight security and protest from various groups, including Karni Sena. However, some cinema hall owners decided not to screen the film in the wake of protests being carried allegedly by Karni Sena members in Gujarat and Haryana.

I think 3 players might be involved in the entire Padmavati protest by karni Sena.
    a. Bansilal, who got free publicity globally for the Padmavati movie
    b. Karni Sena, finally gave statement saying there is no such scene, which is objectionable to the Rajput community. Might be their hands have been greesed thoroughly.
    c. All BJP ruled States have banned this movie without any delay in spite of Censor board approval. In Rajastan, they lost 2 Loksaba and one MLA seats, during recent election and quietly want to blame the opposition for their failures, as they are master the art of blaming.

The whole drama was to support Congress to win the by-election.
The movie was just a excuse.
None of the Congress leaders protested when the karni sena went on a rampage.infact digvijay singh supported them.

..He said 'There is no such objectionable scene..!!!.Election finish, it seems Karni sena now saw film..the whole riots/protests is a conspiracy against BJP..Congress knows BJP Govt cant support or oppose the film, they will be in a fix..they opposed it then projected as Intolerant, they supported it then projected as against Rajput..Karni sena which vandalised property thrown stone at school bus openely says they worked against BJP & celebrated Congress victory...now no one questions Congress about their supporters act!!..SC should make Karni sena cheif to pay for loss of property with his own account..

In a country like modern India where a lot of youth are trying hard to get on with their life ,Political, religious and cultural outfits easily mobilize large groups within short time to carry out their hidden agenda..These youth realize that they are only used for selfish goals of these outfits and their leaders when it is too late..Put these anti national goons behind the bars for terrorising people and children in the name of culture..

Based on the written letter given by the leaders of the Karni Sena while withdrawing the Protest some one must file a complaint in the Supreme court and seek for payment of compensation caused by the bundh call and protest all over India. Even BJP can fight for their loss in Rajasthan election. How can they be left free in a democratic country? if they fight for right to protest then one should be punished when they protest and cause loss without any valid reason. In the letter they clearely mentioned that" There is no such objectionable scene between Delhi Sultanate ruler Alauddin Khilji and Queen Padmini of Mewar which hurts the sentiments of Rajputs" it is very clear that without seeing the movie they started protest bundh all causing enormous damage to the movie producers Society in large. They must be punished so that in future no one will take such hasty action. This should be a lesson to all. Supreme Court has to take a decission on this and put all leaders of the sena in prison and also recover the loss to the exchequer. God bless All

Looks like a fixed match between Bhansali and Karni Sena, He got all the publicity for the movie, the stars never promoted the movie. And at the end withdrawal of protest & promotion of movie by Karni Sena itself.
