Mangaluru, Feb 9: World Cancer Day was observed by department of Public Health Dentistry, Yenepoya Dental College in collaboration with NSS unit of Yenepoya Dental College in Deralakatte recently.
The inaugural address was given by Dr B H Sripathi Rao, principal, Yenepoya Dental College and presidential address by Dr M Vijaya Kumar, vice-chancellor of Yenepoya University.
Dr Imran Pasha, NSS programme officer, Yenepoya Dental College compered the programme. Head of Public Health Dentistry department Dr Rekha Shenoy rendered the vote of thanks.
Audiovisual presentation regarding the cause, symptoms and prevention of various cancers, was arranged for general public.The students of Yenepoya Dental College presented a street play regarding cancer detection and ill effects of tobacco use.
