Bengaluru: Karavali Pratishtaana conducts ‘Bahu Baasha Bhavikya Kavi Goshti’

Bengaluru, Feb 10: Karavali Kala Pratishtana, a coastal sports and culture based organization here organized a special programme recently at Hillside school ground, Raghuvanahalli, Kanakapura Road called ‘Basha Bhavaikya Bahu Baasha Kavi Gosti’ which included all dialects of Tulunadu.

The Kavi Ghosti was presided over by well-known poet and famous film lyricist Dr Prof Dodda Range Gowda and famous singer from Udupi B Krishna Karanth was the chief guest.

In his presidential speech, Dr Range Gowda said that he never had an experience like this ever before to know about the diversity of languages in the coastal region of Karnataka. It was a memorable event in his poetic career to sit and watch the talented poets of the region.

Chief guest Krishna Karanth who sung the songs of his earlier days, was honoured by Dr Dodda Range Gowda. Music director V Manohar and ‘Madipu’ Tulu film director Chethan Mundadi, and Dr Udaya Dharmasthala were present.

Poets Freeman D’Almeida Akshatha Raj Perla, Vidyashree Shetty, Sadanand, Yadava Kallapu, Muralikrishna, Vinod Mudugadde, Chandrashekhar Kodladi recited Konkani, Havyaka, Tulu, Teeya, Talya, Shivalli Tulu, Arebashe, and Kunda Kannada poems.

Palli Vishvanath Shetty and Satish Agpala of Karavali Kalapratishtana organized the event.

Shantharam V Shetty narrated the whole event in a poetic style, Kadal da Udal’ fame Sudhkar Shetty, and Sudhindra composed the music.
