New Delhi, Feb 14 (IANS): Taiwanese electronics giant ASUS on Wednesday launched a new lightweight, 14-inch laptop in India with 8th Generation Intel Core processor and slim-bezel "NanoEdge" display, at a starting price of Rs 54,990.

ASUS "VivoBook S14 (S410UA)" is available in three variants -- with 7th Generation Intel Core i3 model, 8th Generation Intel Core i5 and 8th Generation Intel Core i7 Model -- on Flipkart.

People can buy VivoBook S410-7th Generation i3 model for Rs 44,990 as part of Valentine's Day offer which is valid from February 14-28.

"Consumers are seeking trendy yet powerful laptops. With our new 'VivoBook S14', we bring those users a laptop that can represent their style with powerful hardware for making their daily task easy," Arnold Su, Business Development Manager, ASUS India said in a statement.

The portable laptop comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM for multi-tasking and a backlit keyboard.

The 8th Generation Intel Core processor provides 60 per cent more processing power than the previous generation.

VivoBook S14 also features up to a 256GB "SATA M.2 SSD" for faster data access speeds.

"The slim-bezel NanoEdge display enables VivoBook S14 to fit a 14-inch Full-HD panel into a 13-inch chassis making it significantly smaller than any 14-inch laptops," the company said.

VivoBook S14 has an integrated touchpad fingerprint sensor and "Windows Hello" support where users can simply log in with a single touch.

The battery claims to provide up to eight hours life.
