Tumakuru, Feb 14: There are times when in a fit of anger, children resort to violence and attack others. However, such violence is normally associated with games like cricket and Kabaddi.

In a strange incident reported from Tiptur in the district, fight over slide between children ended in acid attack on two children aged four and eleven. Both the injured brothers have been hospitalized and they are said to be out of danger.

The police are searching for a gang of six to seven children who launched the above attack.

Dashvanth (11) and Vinay (4), children of Pushpa and Anand couple, were playing in the open air theater located at K R Extension in the town. It is said that relating to playing on the slide here, a quarrel had erupted between these two brothers and some other children last week.

A gang of six to seven children, which arrived at the spot at 10 am on Tuesday February 13, duly armed with a bottle of acid used to clean the toilet bowl, chased the two brothers and sprayed the acid on their head, face, hand etc. The children, who were unable to bear the agony, rushed to their home. The parents provided them treatment at the government hospital.

It is learnt that the children escaped from any serious injuries as the acid used for the attack was the one used for toilet cleaning and hence not too strong.

All the children who launched the attack are said to be in the age group of ten to 11 years. All of them were locals, although their identities are not yet known. The children who were the targets of the group's ire, said that the boys who attacked them were speaking in Hindi and Urdu languages.

A complaint was registered at Tiptur police station and the police are investigating the same.
