Mangaluru, Feb 17: In connection with the celebration of the feast of our Lady of Lourdes, a collection drive for the needy and poor was organized for three days at Lourdes Central School, here.
Recalling the words of Jesus 'Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me', it was a truly commendable response from the students and the parents who showed they cared and were sensitive to the needs of the poor and underprivileged.
The students collected and sorted grocery items for distribution to five different homes for the needy and orphanage. The collected items were sent to Snehasadan Gurupura, Prashanth Nivas Jeppu, Little Sisters of Poor Mangaluru, Ashraya Bejai, Mangaluru and to many poor families.
The principal greatly appreciated the students and parents for their positive response.
