Padmapriya Case: CoD Begins Probe in Udupi

Udupi, Aug 8: A CoD team, headed by Superintendent of Police Jogappa, visited Manipal in connection with Padmapriya suicide case. 
 

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Manipal Police Inspector B G Achar said that he handed over the files related to the case to the team.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Govindayya will be the Investigating Officer of the team, which will also include DySP Subhashchandra and Inspector Laxminarayana.

In a related development, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Udupi on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Atul, the accused in the Padmapriya suicide case, till August 20.
 
 
Assistant Director of Prosecutions G V Naik submitted a medical certificate in response to the show cause notice issued to the Mangalore jail authorities by the court for not producing Atul during the last hearing and also as a report for not producing Atul today before the court.

The medical certificate was issued by the doctor of Sanjeeveeni Ayurveda Hospital stating that Atul is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The Order was passed to release Innova car that was seized following Padmapirya’s suspicious death.  The owner will have to give an indemnity for Rs 10 lakh with one solvent and surety for the same.

    Now COD can destroy evidence as in tha case of Hajabba - Hasanabba.We cannot expect more from these COD Team.After three years the judgement will be like this:Due to no evidence all accused in this case has been released.
