Key Indian equity indices trade lower in afternoon session


Mumbai, Feb 22 (IANS): The key Indian equity indices are trading lower during the afternoon session on Thursday.

The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 33,817.09 points, traded at 33,729.65 points (12.20 p.m.)-- down 115.21 points or 0.34 per cent -- from its previous session's close at 33,844.86 points.

The Sensex has so far touched a high of 33,817.09 points and a low of 33,691.56 points during the intra-day trade.

The wider Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) traded lower by 45.25 points or 0.44 per cent at 10,352.20 points."

"Sensex and Nifty opened flat to negative as trade set up looks forward for the monthly (F&O) expiry today," Dhruv Desai, Director and Chief Operating Officer of Tradebulls, told IANS.
