Mangaluru: PG students’ conclave ‘Anveshan’ inaugurated at Besant Evening College

Mangaluru, Feb 23: Research has become part of the academic activity and the quality has gained its priority and it is the need of the hour said Prof Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya of Mangalore University.

After inaugurating the ‘Anveshan’, Intercollegiate PG Students Research Conclave at Besant Evening College, Prof Yadapadithaya said, “Learning is a continuous process and the real learning takes place outside the class room. Students should develop the habit of regular reading and should be the cream in their discipline. They should always update their knowledge to sustain and lead in their profession. Students at the post graduate level should be involved in quality research to lead in the competitive world. Research publications should be free from plagiarism which is the need of the hour.” He appreciated the organisers of taking the need based programme which is very useful to the PG level of education.



The president of the programme, Kudpi Jadagish Shenoy said, “The expectations of modern society are always changing in nature and the present post graduate level students need to be trained to face the modern challenges. Writing the qualitative research papers for publications which are free from plagiarism is one of the needs of post graduates.” He congratulated the organisers for taking up the right topic for the seminar which is very apt for building the students’ career.

Sushma, MCom student led the programme with invocation. Dr Lakshminarayan Bhat, principal introduced the guests and welcomed the gathering. Dr Vasappa Gowda, the seminar director, gave the outline of the seminar. MCom 7th rank holder, Deeksha Rao and Satvika H Shetty, the faculty member of the college and rank holder in MA (Bharathanatyam) were felicitated. Convener of the seminar Thara S Shetty rendered the vote of thanks. Pavanjaya, external IQAC member, and Amitha Kumari, the raporteur general of the seminar were on the dais. Srinidhi, MCom student, coordinator, compered the programme.
