KMC Hospitals Mangaluru to conduct free screening for prostatic diseases

Mangaluru, Feb 27: In a bid to raise awareness on prostatic diseases among men, the Urology Department of KMC here, will on Thursday, March 1 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm conduct a free screening camp.

The camp will be conducted at KMC Hospitals, Dr B R Ambedkar / Jyothi Circle in the city.

The free screening camp will include consultation, digital rectal examination, uroflowmetry, ultrasound, counselling and PSA blood test.

Dr G G Laxman Prabhu, HOD, department of urology, KMC Hospitals, stated that prostatic screening is recommended for men above the age of 40 with or without the symptoms such as scalding urination, straining to pass urine, frequent urination, urinary incontinence, sense of incomplete urination, blood in urine, lower backache."
