Mangaluru: 'Khandi Khuris' drama first show held at Ammembal church

Mangaluru, Feb 28: The first performance of 'Khandi Khuris' Konkani drama in the diocese, written by Vally Vagga, dramatized by John M Permannur and directed by George William D'Souza was held on Sunday evening February 25 at the church ground of Ammembal St Thomas the Apostle church here.

Vicar general Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu who was present as guest of honor prayed, blessed and wished that the performances of the drama scheduled by Rang Tarang troupe in seven parishes in the city in this period of lent may be a success and provide an excellent lesson.



Parish priest of Ammembal church, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas at the end of the drama, commended the drama for its moral and honor to the holy cross that reflects on the religious and social lives of our elders nearly seventy years ago which is written by Vally Vagga, directed and performed with superior acting by Rang Tarang troupe.

He draped a shawl on Vally Vagga on behalf of the troupe and felicitated him.

George William D'Souza, Madanthyar, Agnes Lena Shambur, Pius Saldanha Virajpet and Clifford D'Souza Madanthyar have acted in the drama. Samson Mysore has provided music. The drama will be performed in seven places in Puttur, Beltangady, Mulki, Kelarai, Don Bosco hall, Madanthyar and Kinnigoli of Mangaluru diocese in the days to come.
