Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School carries out 'Save Water Save Life' awareness

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 3 (IANS): Keeping in mind the inevitable fact that summer is on its way and shortage of water will be faced everywhere, Lourdes Central School initiated from February 26 to March 2 the 'Save Water Save Life' project. The main aim was to spread awareness among students to conserve water in their daily life without misusing or wasting it.

The project was inaugurated on February 26 by the principal Fr Robert D’Souza by operating the incandescent hand pump model.

Class 5 teachers and students took the initiative to enlighten the Lourdites about the urge to save water and the various steps to save water. The water wastage facts given by the students during their assemblies were an eye opener to save water for the future. Meaningful skits and songs presented by the students throughout the week gave various tips to preserve water in their daily life. Students read out slogans and solemnly promised to save water.

On the finale of the project, the principal addressed the students and stressed on the importance of water and the need to save it. He also added just like small efforts in our life lead to great results so, two drops of water saved by all will help create an ocean. He also requested all the Lourdites to spread the same message to their families and neighbours.

In conclusion, every Lourdite felt that this big problem cannot be solved alone or only by a group of people. It is the problem which needs to be solved globally. Let us join this venture and save water before its too late.
