Farooq Abdullah decries communalisation of politics ahead of 2019 LS elections

Jammu, Mar 4 (PTI): National Conference president Farooq Abdullah today expressed grave concern over communalisation of politics" ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and cautioned the BJP to desist from "dividing the nation into religious lines".

A polarised India is detrimental to its growth, progress, unity and peace, he said during a function at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here.

The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir also decried the misuse of religion for political and electoral gains.

Elaborating on the attempts by divisive forces in the state with an eye on ensuing elections, Abdullah said Jammu and Kashmir have to flourish and progress as a single entity. On the rape and murder of a minor girl in the state's Kathua district recently, the NC chief said a dangerous trend was being set wherein the culprits were using religion as a shield to escape law of the land.

A special police officer was among two persons arrested in connection with the rape and murder of the eight-year-old girl in January.

This Abdulla and his ancestors already divided India very long back.
They are are the route cause for unrest in present Kashmir.
He should be either deported to some other isolated island or in jail for life term for sake of peace in J&K.

100% true. BJP knows well they cannot win the election on development agend.Modi’s politics of polarisation has set Jammu on fire. The rape and murder of an eight year old Muslim girl in the valley, Asifa has been communalised. BJP leaders are framing the issue as nationalists versus anti-nationals. The BJP and the Hindu Ekata Manch led a protest using the tricolour against the arrest of the alleged rapist and murderer, a special police officer and a Hindu. Such opportunist communalisation of Jammu will destroy its social fabric and provide further reasons for the growth of militancy in the Valley.ns on development agenda .
