Mangaluru: MLC Ivan D’Souza donates barricades to police department

Mangaluru, Mar 5: Police commissioner T R Suresh inaugurated the new traffic barricades donated by chief whip of legislative council Ivan D’Souza here at police commissioner’s office on Monday, March 5.

Addressing the gathering Ivan D Souza said, “I have dedicated 38 traffic barricades this year to the police department under 2017-18 regional development fund which are worth Rs 5 lac. Last year too, traffic barricade were donated to the police department. The barricade design has been changed compared to last year. These barricades will be useful to the public especially at heavy traffic areas in the city.”



DCP law and order Hanumantharaya, DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashanth, ACP traffic Manjunath Shetty and others were present.

    Donation ,and to police department??Don't the government have enough money to buy the barricades?And it is unfortunate to see this(I am not saying its bad to donate -but you could donate to the actual ones in real need),because i have seen lot of barricades in different parts of Karnataka which are unattended or carelessly left in different places or broken which could be repaired with a welding in place.
