Key Indian equity indices close in red


Mumbai, Mar 6 (IANS): After opening and trading in the positive territory for quite some time on Tuesday, key Indian stock market indices gave up their entire morning gains and closed in the red.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed the day's trade 109.60 points, or 1.06 percent, lower at 10,249.25 points.

The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 34,047.43 points, closed at 33,317.20 points (at 03.44 p.m.), lower 429.58 points, or 1.27 percent, from the previous day's close at 33,746.78 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 34,060.13 points and a low of 33,209.76 points in the intra-day trade.
