Mangaluru: TCS Tech Bytes IT quiz come to a grand close

Mangaluru, Mar 7: Akshit and Rahul Vishal Mishra, students of MIT, Manipal bagged the first prize in the Mangaluru region BITES – TCS IT quiz ‘TCS Tech Bytes’ contest held at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, on March 6 and qualified for the state level.

More than 400 students from 24 Engineering colleges of the region participated in the mega event anchored by the well known quiz master Lloyd Saldanha. The students of NITK, Surathkal, Mangalore Marine College, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, MITE, Moodabidri, AIT Chikmagalore and MIT Manipal were in the final round of competition.

The quiz contest was jointly organized by Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), government of Karnataka and TCS Bengaluru and hosted by Srinivas Institute of Technology.

Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college distributed the prizes and emphasized the importance of hard work for success and appreciated the participants. The programme was coordinated by Prof Shivakumar G S, head, Computer Science & Engineering. Shobha Murthy of TCS was present on the occasion.

The entire programme was sponsored by A Shama Rao Foundation.
