Mangaluru, Mar 11: On the occasion of International Women's Day, sanitary napkin vending machines were installed at the international airport here. There had been demand for such a facility since long.
In the past, several women passengers had tweeted about the need for such a facility, and attracted attention of airport officials. During January this year, the airport officials had assured through the Twitter account of the airport to provide such a facility soon.
On March 8, such a machine was installed in the washrooms of ladies at the airport. These machines have been provided in the arrival and departure terminals of the airport, which will also help women staff of the airport.
The airport officials also tweeted about the provision of this facility, and this tweet got scores of responses from ladies who have appreciated the gesture of the officials and thanked them.
