China congratulates Nepal President Bhandari on re-election


Beijing, Mar 14 (IANS): China on Wednesday congratulated Bidya Devi Bhandari on being re-elected as Nepal's President.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang expressed hope that Nepal would continue to make great achievements under the leadership of Bhandari and the Nepali government.

"China attaches great importance to Sino-Nepal relations and is willing to work with Nepal to strengthen mutual cooperation," Lu was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.

Bhandari was re-elected for a second term through a Parliament vote on Tuesday.
