Kuwait, Aug 20: The Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA), recently celebrated India's 61st Independence Day with a variety of programmes at Infra auditorium, Abbassiya. The event was hosted by the socio-cultural affairs unit of KKMA, the largest Indian expatriate organization in the country.
Abdul Fathah Thayyil, general secretary, KKMA, delivered the keynote address emphasizing the role of the youth in shaping society and the nation. B M Iqbal, vice-president, KKMA and the leader of the socio-cultural team, presided over the function.
A P Abdul Salam, acting president, KKMA, was also present. S M Basheer, sports wing director, gave a multimedia presentation. Abdul Rahman Kodungalloor recited verses from the Holy Qura'n at the start of the function.
