Lucknow, Mar 21: Uttar Pradesh Congress president Raj Babbar has reportedly resigned from his post.
His resignation comes in the wake of poor performance by the party in the recently held Lok Sabha polls for the two seats - Gorakhpur and Phulpur.
Election was held after Chief minister Yogi Adityanath resigned from his Gorakhpur seat and Phulpur seat represented by Keshav Prasad Maurya who resigned to take charge as the Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh.
Reports say that several top leaders holding key posts in the Congress are likely to tender their resignations since Rahul Gandhi is all set to form a new team. Rahul Gandhi who was recently appointed as the President of the Congress has been authorised to nominate the Congress Working Committee(CWC).
