Chennai, Mar 22 (IANS): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami on Thursday said severe action will be taken against those who disturb communal peace in the state.
Speaking in the Assembly, Palaniswami said three persons in Madurai were taken into custody for assaulting and threatening Christians in prayer homes on March 11.
He added that some unidentified people barged into a prayer home and assaulted the people assembled there and damaged furniture.
Palaniswami said four cases have been registered.
He also said that a complaint was registered on March 11 against the prayer homes for holding unauthorised prayer meetings and for campaigning against the central government.
