Mumbai: Akshata Poojary wins gold in powerlifting, declared strongest Indian woman

Mumbai, Mar 24: Akshata Poojary Bola who has competed on international arena and won several gold medals in powerlifting as well as the prestigious Ekalavya Sports Award in Karnataka has won two gold medals in bench press powerlifting competitions for senior women held at Ranchi, Jharkhand recently and was declared strongest Indian woman.

Police anti rowdy squad north zone staff Vijaya Kanchan Bykampady has won gold medal in men's senior division. Manjunath Mallya has won two gold medals in master division. The three are undergoing training in Veeramaruthi Gym, Kinnigoli.



It can be recollected that Akshata Poojary had participated earlier in the state level powerlifting in Bengaluru and won gold medal with an award for being strongest woman in Karnataka.
