Mysuru, Mar 24: Youngsters will positively respond to AICC President Rahul Gandhi, said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President Dr G Parameshwara on Saturday.

Dr Parameshwara, who was present along with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other senior Congress leaders during Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Mysuru, said the young Congress President had a great interaction with students at the Maharani’s Arts College of Women in Mysuru.

"Youngsters believe in him. He manages to encourage a new breed of young leaders and nurture them in age-old Congress ideals of secularism, equity, socialism and democracy," Dr Parameshwara said.

He said: "What the country needs today, is young leadership that can help realise their dreams and secure their future."
The Congress party will build a narrative based on fairness, equal opportunity, jobs for the youth, and lifting 250 million people out of poverty, he said.

The KPCC President pointed out that "over the years I have been on multiple tours across Karnataka, but I have witnessed the highest number of youngsters in attendance during last the few tours led by our national President Rahul Gandhi."

"This is a positive sign as the young people of both sexes respond very positively to Rahul Gandhi. The youth are fed up with false promises and leaders who not mix with people," he said.
