Pravin Togadia questions Modi's silence, hits out at BJP for not enacting law to build Ram temple

Nagpur, Mar 26 (PTI): Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Pravin Togadia on Sunday slammed the BJP-led government at the Centre for not enacting a law to build the Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had time to meet Pakistan's prime minister, but does not have "the courtesy to meet your childhood friend (Togadia)" .

If the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute was to be resolved through a court, then why there was an agitation in 1992 and why many people sacrificed their lives, he asked during a press conference in Nagpur.

The Ayodhya case is currently being heard by the Supreme Court.

The agitation was launched to create a public opinion in favour of the Ram temple so that a pro-temple government would come to power and enact a law for its construction, he said.

Only a temple can come up on the disputed land and the surrounding 66-acre area, he said.

The BJP had promised to pass a law in Parliament for the construction of the Ram temple during its Palampur national executive meeting in 1987, he said.

But no law has been passed even in the last four years, and Modi is silent on the issue, he said.

"Just a week ago I wrote a letter to the prime minister, saying you can meet (then) Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif but you don't have the courtesy to meet your
childhood friend (Togadia) and discuss issues of national interest," he said.

These destroyers of social harmony, the born war will fight each other in front of us. Modi and Tagodia used to ride in the same motorbike as RSS pracharakas, but for a very long time they were having bitter friction. Now the current rule of the nation is exclusively operated by the twins Modi-Amith Shaw.

God comes first then all the Religions, so one needs to give first place to almighty in his/her heart. If a person builds a temple & if God is not in him, what is the use ? Even if this temple comes in that place after fighting & killing his fellow being will that person gain anything before God? This one needs to ponder on. So let us not carry by religion, rather create a atmosphere in our heart God to dwell, where God will be very happy & that person will have peace of mind & long life.

Present Rs am Mandir (make shift temple)in place and regular worship is going on in Ayodya is only because late Sri Rajiv Gandhi and hindus should be grateful for his bold decision.Babri structure was demolished during Congress rule when Late Narasimha Rao was the PM......BJP and BJP did nothing except Advanjiji took a full pledged battalion for demolison of old structure...
BJP therefore will not build the temple in future also.Their concentration is only on power.
Had there been Rajiv Gandhi as PM temple would have built long back.

Now your government is in power, why cant you just go ahead and build the Temple.

BJP will do nothing to build the temple. They only used the temple name to come in to power.

Did the judiciary of India come into effect since last year ? Why those who climbed on the minarets of Babri Masjid to pull it down did not realize the importance of the judiciary when they razed down the monument ?

Why now await the judiciary's decision ? Or requirement of a law to build ? There is Hindu supporting government at the center, go, build the temple ?

    Cowards !!
