Hyderabad: New culture emerging in BJP under Modi-Shah regime, says Naidu

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (DHNS): Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that a new culture has emerged in the BJP under the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah regime.

Speaking to party MPs through teleconference from the state secretariat in Amaravati, Naidu said that the BJP is acting vengeful and without taking into account the feelings of the people of the state.

"We have been giving due respect to the prime minister. We believe in decency in politics. If the BJP prefers to target us personally, we will retaliate. We will also talk about Modi and Amit Shah. The culture of the BJP has changed in the recent times", the chief minister charged.

Naidu, who became the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1995, reminded the MPs that Narendra Modi first became the chief minister of Gujarat in 2001.

"Tell them that I had become the chief minister much before the others could. We handled many situations. We believe in decency in politics. When we have political issues, we fight politically," said Naidu.

Naidu also expressed apprehensions that the Centre under the leadership of Narendra Modi will unleash a witch-hunt after the TDP pulled out of the NDA.

The TDP quit the BJP -led NDA alliance on March 16 in protest against the Center's refusal to grant special category status to bifurcated Andhra Pradesh.
