Mangaluru: Nitte scientist receives recognition from ISCA

Mangaluru, Mar 28: Dr Biswajit Maiti, assistant professor at Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research (NUCSER), received the prestigious ‘Dr (Mrs) Gouri Ganguly Memorial Award’ for the year 2017-2018 in the recently concluded 105th annual meet of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) held from March 16 to 20 at Manipur University, Imphal.

Dr Maiti was nominated for this prestigious award by the director (R & D), of Nitte (Deemed to be University), Prof Indrani Karunasagar, one of the few distinguished women scientists in the country.

ISCA is a professional body under department of Science and Technology, government of India. The award, which includes a citation, plaque and cash prize, was instituted by ISCAin 2002-2003 to recognize the contributions of young scientists of the country for their achievements in various fields of science and allows the awardees to showcase their research accomplishments in the form of a lecture during the award ceremony.
