New Delhi, March 29 (IANS): More than 28 lakh students have been affected by CBSE decision on Wednesday to re-conduct examination for two papers of Class X and XII.
As per the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), a total of 16,38,428 and 11,86,306 students had registered for examination this year for Class X and Class XII respectively.
Thus, over 28 lakh candidates of both classes will have to re-sit in the exam due to the board's alleged inability to keep its question papers secure.
The board had announced it will re-conduct exams for Maths paper of Class X and Economics paper of Class XII after leak of both papers on social media message application. Exam in both papers were held on Wednesday.
The Union government had said a police investigation had been ordered, and assured the students and parents on the arrest of culprits soon.
