Mangalore: Karnataka Bank Wins Sun and NDTV Green IT Award

Mangalore, Aug 25: In recognition of the optimal technology utilisation, Mangalore-based Karnataka Bank Limited has won the prestigious Sun and NDTV Green IT award at a glittering ceremony held at Mumbai recently. In view of the paramount importance of creating a sustainable planet for our children and their generations to come, Sun Microsystems and NDTV have taken initiatives to recognise organisations which have pledged their positive commitment to the planet and engage in eco-efficient green technologies to run their business.

Sun Microsystems and NDTV have recognised the Bank’s implementation of core banking in rural branches using thin clients, solar power modules and VSAT connection thereby reducing the power and carbon footprint accounting for global warming, a burning issue all over the world.
