Indian, Pakistan armies clash on LoC

Jammu, Apr 2 (IANS): Indian and Pakistan armies on Monday engaged in heavy shelling and firing on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

Police said the Pakistan Army started unprovoked shelling and firing targeting Indian positions.

"Indian troops retaliated effectively and strongly. Firing exchanges are going on in Keri area," a police officer said.

The two armies had traded heavy fire in Khari Karmara belt of Poonch district on Sunday. The LoC divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
