Hassan, Apr 6: District in-charge minister, A Manju, is facing another problem within a short period. A first information report (FIR) was registered against the minister at the town police station here on the night of Wednesday April 4, accusing Manju of making wrongful use of government building.

Under instructions from deputy commissioner of the district, Rohini Sindhuri, officer for election code of conduct violation, Rajesh, complained about the incident. Case under section 188 of Indian Penal Code was registered.

The media had published reports on March 31 this year, saying that the office of the district in-charge minister had violated the election code of conduct brought into force by the Central Election Commission, as flexes were not removed and office staff were working. When the officials reached there, they saw that some women employees were working inside the office with the front door closed. The deputy commissioner had served notice on the minister and sought clarification from him about this violation. He has set April 10 deadline for filing a reply.

The deputy commissioner has come to the conclusion that the reply furnished by the minister to the notice was not satisfactory. Therefore, she instructed her subordinate officials to register a case under election code of conduct violation of rules. This may create problems for the minister.

The deputy commissioner it is said, is not in the good books of the people loyal to minister Manju. Rohini Sindhuri went to high court against her abrupt transfer that was affected much prior to the minimum term. By staying firm in her determination to enforce law, Sindhuri has drawn appreciation of the people with this action.
