Naveen Patnaik laughs at Amit Shah's claim of winning over 120 Assembly seats in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Apr 6 (PTI): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laughed at BJP president Amit Shahs claim that the saffron party would win more than 120 seats in next years state Assembly polls.

He also said his government had never neglected the western Odisha districts, as alleged by Shah.

"The state government has never neglected the western Odisha districts. As you can see, we are working for the all-round development of that region," the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief told reporters here.

At a public meeting in Bolangir yesterday, Shah had alleged that the BJD government was neglecting the western Odisha districts.

The BJP chief had also said if the saffron party was voted to power in Odisha, it would give a special attention towards the development of the western region of the state.

"Naveen Patnaik has been adopting a step-motherly attitude towards the western region. While the area under irrigation across the state is 33 per cent, it is only 11 per cent in the western districts. This shows that Naveen babu has not done justice towards these districts," Shah had said.

The BJP has a strong presence in the western Odisha districts.

Patnaik laughed at Shahs claim that the BJP would win over 120 of the 147 Assembly seats in Odisha next year.

"I think that (Shahs estimation) is very very exaggerating. I do not see any basis of his claim," the chief minister said with a smile on his face.

On the first day of his visit to Odisha on April 4, Shah had not mentioned about the BJPs target of winning 120 plus seats in the state. The BJP chief had set the "120 plus" target during his visit to the state in September last year.

"I had not spoken about Mission 120 yesterday (Wednesday) and Naveen babu planted news in the media as to why I was silent. I had not spoken about it because I am sure that we will win more seats here, much bigger than the mandate we got in Tripura recently," Shah had told the gathering at Bolangir yesterday.

He had also ridiculed Patnaik, saying, "Naveen babu is scared, not me. He is scared because the youth has come with us."

The BJP president had also accused the chief minister of "shielding criminals", who, he said, were attacking the BJP workers.

Unless and until Odisha does not go the way of Arunachal Pradesh, Amit Shah claims won't be true.
In Arunachal Pradesh the CM Kalikho Pul was pressured to commit suicide. In his 60-page suicide note, a copy of which is with IANS, Pul said H.L. Dattu was allegedly paid Rs 28 crore in 2012 to stay an order against the former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, despite the Gauhati High Court ordering a CBI inquiry against Tuki after finding him guilty.

Pul had become Chief Minister on February 19, 2016, after he along with 29 (19 Congress and 11 BJP) MLAs defected to the People's Party of Arunachal Pradesh (PPA) a state outfit to form a new government, bringing down the existing Congress government led by Chief Minister Tuki.
The 47-year-old leader was found hanging from a ceiling fan on August 9 in the official residence of the Chief Minister. He had yet to vacate the bungalow.
The Arunachal Police had found a 60-page letter written by Pul near his body, titled 'Mere Vichar' (My Views). The letter also accuses two sitting judges of the Supreme Court of corruption.

In the letter, Pul has accused Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu and ex-CM Nabam Tuki as being among the few people responsible for bringing the state into financial ruin.

On 16 September 2016, 43 MLAs from the ruling party, under the CM Pema Khandu, defected from Indian National Congress to People's Party of Arunachal, an ally of BJP.

On December 21, 2016 in a high octane drama Khandu was suspended from the party by the party president and Takam Pario was named as the next likely Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh replacing Khandu after People's Party of Arunachal suspended Khandu along with 6 other MLAs.

In December 2016, Khandu proved majority on the floor of the house with 33 of the People's Party of Arunachal’s 43 legislators joining the BJP.
Like Arunachal Pradesh Amit Shah will use defection Biju Janata Dal. Amit Shah don't believe in democracy. CM Patnaik should be serious.

Mr Patnaik don't be over confidant. Whenever Amit Shah makes this type of statement it is confirmed in many occasions that there are some illegal activities and deals are taking place behind the scene to win by hook or crook. BJP can Never win nor has any elections by fair and free means.
