Indrani Mukerjea rushed to JJ Hospital, admitted in ICU


Mumbai, Apr 7 (IT) : Prime accused in murder of her own daughter Sheena Bora, Indrani Mukerjea was rushed to JJ Hospital from Byculla Jail, late on Friday, after her health condition deteriorated. According to sources, she was rushed to the emergency ward of JJ Hospital in delirious condition.

Late in the night, according to hospital sources, her health condition stabilised after which she was shifted from emergency ward to Critical Care Unit, however she is still under observation.

In 2015 also, Indrani was admitted to JJ hospital on suspicion of drug overdose. Later, she complained suffering from blackouts.

Indrani, who is also an accused in INX Media case was arrested for abduction and murder of her own daughter Sheena on April 24, 2012. Her husband and media baron Peter Mukherjea is also facing trial in the case and is currently lodged at Arthur Road Jail, Mumbai. In a cold blooded murder, Sheena's body was disposed of on April 25, 2012, at a deserted spot in Pen, Raigad.

The case came to light when Shyamvar Rai, driver of Indrani was arrested on August 21, 2015, by Khar police in an illegal arms case. Rakesh Maria, then police commissioner of Mumbai ordered to reopen the case. During interrogation, Rai told police about Sheena's murder after Indrani and Khanna were arrested. And later Peter, who had expressed shock over the revelations and said he had no knowledge of the murder, was arrested.

The case was transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation.

Indrani was recently confronted with Karti Chidambaram in INX Media case inside Byculla jail.
