Mangalore: New Scholastic Year Begins at P A College

Mangalore, Aug 28: "There is no word known as 'luck' in any holy books of religion under the sun. It has been created for escapism. Students should not believe in luck instead of hard work, dedication and commitment to reach success", said Dr Syed Akheel Ahmed, vice-chancellor of Yenepoya University.
He was addressing the students and parents at the inaugural programme of bachelor of engineering classes at P A College of Engineering here on Thursday August 28.
Dr Ahmed advised the students that memorization shall not help in higher education and to be abreast of happening around is also more important to achieve success in entrance exams for higher educations.
He said, "Parents' involvement in shaping of students future is a crucial factor. Frequent assessment on children's academic activity is a duty of the parents. According to the 'change in paradigm' students should realize that the concept of unidimensional personality has gone leaving space for multi-dimensional personality."
Asking the students to keep themselves away from ragging menace in the campus, he added that it is an imported alien culture which was practiced by vagabonds.
UT Khader, MLA Mangalore said that students should not have complacency for an average result instead of coming out of the college as an engineer with difference to lead our nation in mainstream.
Senior Journalist K M Ahmed opined that our culture has been constantly threatened by globalization. It is need of the hour to teach culture and tradition to the students in higher education.
Ahmed released the college year book 'NOESIS'. The event also marked the inaugural of new block of college cafeteria.
Principal Dr SA Khan welcomed gathering. Ashraf Bin Qasim recited the Quran. Prof Ganesh Aithal proposed vote of thanks. Chairman Dr P A Ibrahim presided over the function. Dr SA Khan, principal, KM Haneef, administrator were also present.
