Cabinet approves HQ pact with International Solar Alliance


New Delhi, Apr 11 (IANS): The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday gave its ex-post facto approval to an agreement with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) for India serving as its host country.

The Headquarters Agreement, signed by the External Affairs Ministry and the ISA on March 26, will institutionalise the functional arrangements between India and the the alliance, according to an official statement.

"It will help in smooth transition of ISA as international inter-governmental organisation. Creation of ISA will lead to accelerated solar technology development and deployment in ISA member countries including India," it said.
