Sullia, Apr 13: An engineering college student, identified as Shivani (19), ended her life by hanging at her residence on Thursday April 12. She was a resident of Bettampady within the town limits.
Shivani was a first year engineering degree student of a college located here. She used the veil of her Churidar to make a noose and hang herself from the ceiling fan inside her room, when no one was at home.
The parents of the student were away at their workplaces when the tragic incident happened. Her sister had left for the house of a relative. When her mother came home at the end of her duty hours in the evening, she found that the girl had killed herself. It is said that since the last two weeks, Shivani was in a depressed state, but reasons behind her decision to commit suicide are unknown as yet.
