Udupi: Cars, bike collide on NH66, one dead

Udupi, Apr 14: A bike rider lost his life in a tragic accident involving two cars and a bike near Vidyaniketan School, NH 66 on Friday evening, April 13. The deceased was Muloor resident Prabhaker Poojary (40). He was a tailor by profession.

The accident took place when a Mahindra car on the way from Mangaluru to Udupi rammed into a bike and Ertiga car waiting near Kaup Vidyaniketan School junction to cross the highway.

The bike got jammed in between the Mahindra and Ertiga cars. The cars were badly damaged. Locals had to struggle hard for about 15 minutes to rescue the bike rider stuck in between the cars. He was rushed to the hospital, but died on the way.



Prabhaker Poojary who has a tailoring shop in Muloor, had worked in Dubai as a tailor. He was looking after cultivation in between his tailoring work. He is survived by his mother, wife and a son.

Kaup police circle inspector V S Halamurthi Rao and Kaup SI Nithyananda Gowda visited the spot and conducted investigation.
