Moodbidri: Pillion rider dies in unfortunate accident

Moodbidri, Apr 15: After a motor bike that was trying to avoid an accident skidded near Papermill here on Saturday April 14, the pillion rider fell to the road, and sustained serious injuries. She succumbed to her injuries when being taken to hospital.

The victim was Dhalanalaxmi (32), wife of Lokesh Gowda from Sangabettu near Siddakatte. Dhanalaxmi was travelling in the pillion of the motor bike driven by her husband. The couple was moving towards a temple in Moodbidri from the direction of Bantwal when Lokesh saw that a car which came from a cross road near Bogrugudde bend, Papermill in the town, suddenly entered the main road. Lokesh applied brake in an attempt to avoid imminent accident. But the wheels of the two-wheeler skidded, throwing both Lokesh Gowda and Dhanalaxmi on the road.

Both Dhanalaxmi and Lokesh were injured in the accident. Dhanalaxmi breathed her last on the way to the hospital. Lokesh is being treated in a hospital. The couple's son, Satwik, who was with them during the accident, escaped from danger.

A pedestrian was also injured in this accident.
