Man held for wife's murder in Bengal

Kolkata, April 15 (IANS): A man was arrested on Sunday on charge of killing his wife, whose body was found on the railway tracks in West Bengal's Malda district, police said.

Padmabati's body was found in the morning in Rangamatia area where the couple lived.

"When we raided accused Sishir Mondal's house, blood stains were found on the balcony. It seems he killed his wife and threw the body on the tracks to make it look like an accident," a police officer said.

Police quoted neighbours as claiming that Mondal often came home drunk and beat up his wife.
