Udupi, Apr 18: Veteran journalist, trustee of Mahe Trust Manipal and Dr T M A Pai Foundation, former member of Mahe Board of Management, T V R Shenoy (77), breathed his last at Manipal on Tuesday April 17.

Shenoy had functioned as the editor of 'The Week' periodical and 'Sunday Mail'. He had retired after working for Malayala Manorama and Indian Express in various capacities. He used to write for national and international publications, websites, periodicals etc on issues like national politics, economics, matters having social impact, international matters and current affairs.

He used to contribute articles and opinions to Indian Express, Gulf News, Rediff.com, News Time, Metrubhumi, Indiafirstfoundation.org etc. Shenoy was also a member of the board of trustees of India First Foundation. In 2003, he was bestowed with 'Padma Bhushan' civilian honour.

Shenoy originally hailed from Ernakulam, Kerala. Since the last couple of months, he was being treated at Manipal hospital.
