Udupi, Apr 19: An electoral official has filed a complaint against a video clipping containing false information which has the potential to mislead voters, which is posted in the media in violation of model poll code of conduct. A case accordingly is registered in Kaup police station.
The complainant in this case was the officer of flying squad of Kaup assembly constituency, M N Hipparagi. In his complaint, he mentioned that by spreading video clip containing false information through social media, BJP's Kaup social media team has violated directions of election commission and indulged in misuse of information technology.
Kaup police have begun investigation.
