Abu Dhabi – Sep. 03: Konkanni Speaking Community in Abu Dhabi will be celebrating the Feast of Nativity (Monthi Fest at St. Joseph’s Cathedral.) on Thursday, 11 September 2008.
The evening’s outdoor ceremony will commence at 07:45 p.m. with blessing of the new harvest and offering of Flowers to Mother Mary by children followed by procession and Holy Mass.
The traditional festival which is popular and has been in practice on the Konkan belt will bring back the memories of yearly family Reunion practiced since ages.
The festival is of utmost importance to the devotees to show their love and respect to Mother Mary.
The celebration was initiated in Abu Dhabi by Konkani Cultural Organization (K.C.O.) several years back and has been in practice since then.
